Microsoft will be upgrading Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams soon

Here's what you need to know to make sure you are ready

There are 4 key things you need to share with your team to minimize (hopefully avoid!) disruption.

1) After your upgrade takes place, your Skype for Business client will be disabled.  All chats and calls will go to Microsoft Teams.

2) Any Skype meetings that were scheduled before the upgrade (such as recurring meetings) will continue to work as designed.  New meetings will be scheduled in Teams.

3) If your users to try to sign into Skype for Business after the upgrade, they will get a notification that they have been upgraded to Teams.

4) Eventually, your users will need to manually uninstall Skype for Business from their PCs/Macs.

You may be able to delay your upgrade (but we don't recommend it!)

In some cases, we may be able to delay your upgrade.  However, you can only delay this for so long as Skype will eventually go away.  If you would like to discuss a delay, please contact your account manager using the contact form below.
